University of Debrecen

University of Debrecen (in Hungarian: Debreceni Egyetem) is located in the city of Debrecen and is considered one of the oldest higher education institutions in Hungary, having been established in 1538 and operating continuously since then. The University of Debrecen is distinguished as the oldest university in Hungary and offers outstanding academic programs, especially in the field of medical studies.

The university offers educational programs in English for international students, who number around 4,000, particularly in the field of medicine. • The smaller “Kassai Road” campus houses most buildings for the faculties of Law, Economics, and Informatics.

In addition, several smaller units are spread throughout the city, such as the Departments of Physics and the Institute of Nuclear Research affiliated with the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, forming a smaller campus; and the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, which has its own campus on Ótemető Street.
